Leadership in the classroom: Max Komins, principal of Anne Frank Elementary School, received the Community Leadership Award from RSVP Philadelphia during the 26th annual RSVP Volunteer Recognition Luncheon, held at Philmont Country Club. Komins was singled out for engaging the community in partnerships that improve the quality of education and life for students. His mother, Deborah, and wife, Kim, attended the luncheon. State Rep. Martina White presented Komins with a House of Representatives commendation. State Sen. John Sabatina Jr. also attended. In addition to Komins, some 900 volunteers were recognized for 54,000 hours of service to 95 nonprofit agencies.
